
Mr. Aaron Sones
Assistant Principal
J. Aaron Sones is an assistant principal at Hancock High School and a graduate of Hancock High.
He went on to attend the University of Southern Mississippi, earning a Bachelor’s degree in
French, and the University of Belhaven where he received a Master’s degree in School
Leadership and Administration. Before accepting the role of Assistant Principal at Hancock
High, Aaron taught French for seven years at West Harrison High.
Aaron is the youngest of six children to Kay and Thomas Sones and is overwhelmed with
gratitude and joy to be returning home to serve the teachers of Hancock High. He believes his
service leadership will help support teachers in bringing longevity of academic success. He is
confident that the administration team at Hancock High will provide a safe and efficient
learning environment for all students.
Aaron and his wife, Amanda, will celebrate ten years of marriage this fall. They have three
children together and it is with their children that most of their time is devoted. Attending
large family gatherings, playing spades, taking beach trips, and playing video games are but a
few activities Aaron enjoys with his family.
