A message from our principal, Tara Ladner
It is with great pride and excitement that I welcome you to Hancock High School! As your principal, it is my sincere pleasure to work with our dedicated staff and community to help provide an excellent educational experience for our students. We are committed to ensuring that your children receive the best support to learn and grow.
In Hancock County, our most valuable asset is our people. Cultivating a culture where everyone can learn and grow, be recognized, and feel a part of the school family is essential. Having a high-performing staff and maintaining a positive climate while holding one another accountable provides structure and a place that is ripe for growth.
I am impressed with how our students connect and how vested and supportive the staff is to students. We work to promote inclusivity, equality, and collaboration that demonstrate we are ONE Hancock. Our staff is committed to creating a culture that provides a personal experience for our students. Our goal is to graduate children in Hancock County who are ready for the choice they make for themselves next, whether that immediate future is enrollment, employment, enlistment, or entrepreneurship. At Hancock High, we support and value helping students find their niche to thrive, like academics, performing arts, student organizations, athletics, career technical programs, and more.
Together – our staff, students, parents, and community – can shape 21st-century learners. With a continued coordination of effort, I know we can have an even greater impact on the lives of our students, and I am excited about the future in Hancock County.
Please feel free to call or email me to discuss any questions or concerns you might have throughout the school year.
I look forward to working with you as a partner in education to ensure your child’s success!
What we are known for
Ask anyone on staff about what they consider to be the best part about working with us. They would tell you it’s the feeling of family. Ask our students the best part of being with us. They will tell you about a teacher, coach, or staff member who has made an investment in their lives. At Hancock High School, we pride ourselves on the ability to make connections.
We look for opportunities to celebrate the milestones of our students. From our unique Freshmen Orientation held in July of each summer, to our Sophomore Car Show, Junior Ring Ceremony and Senior Parade; we foster moments that remind students of their educational goals.
The sense of family and community that weaves us together are unlike any other. The ability to come together in difficult times or to celebrate student success make us unique.
“Hancock High School strives to help students reach the best version of themselves. Our job is to make our students stand out so they are competitive at every level- enrollment, employment, enlistment, or entrepreneurship.”
